"No one is better aware
than the Editor himself of the inevitable imperfections in the
earlier editions of a guidebook; and the vast extent of the
Dominion of Canada has made the
preparation of the present volume a peculiarly difficult task. He has
not attempted to give more than a few suggestions and hints for the
traveller's guidance in the less-known parts of the territory, where
a journey still necessarily assumes something of the nature of an
exploration"

cloth. Dated price lists are so indicated; undated lists mention,
where possible, the latest dated guide, e.g. "Austria, 4th ed.,

trifle dulled on spine, otherwise nice and clear. Hinges cracked but
strong. Near fine.

very good copy.
